The Dell EMC PowerVault ME484 is a high-density enterprise SAS JBOD expansion enclosure designed for large-scale storage capacity growth in data center environments. Unlike iSCSI or controller-based storage arrays, the ME484 operates as a direct-attached SAS expansion shelf, relying on external servers or RAID/HBA controllers for storage management. Requires a compatible Dell EMC PowerVault ME4 or ME5 series base array as the head unit. Compatible with ME4012, ME4024, ME4084, ME5012, ME5024, and ME5084.
